National Geographic Endeavour

MS National Geographic Endeavour is a small expedition ship operated by Lindblad Expeditions for cruising in remote areas, particularly the polar regions. The ship was originally a fishing trawler built in 1966 as Marburg, and converted to carry passengers in 1983. First named North Star, then Caledonian Star, she received her present name in June 2001. L'Austral

L'Austral is a cruise ship operated by the French cruise line company Compagnie du Ponant. She is their latest flagship and sister vessel of Le Boréal, built in 2011, with 132 cabins and suites for 264 passengers and 140 crew members. L'Austral was put into service on April 20, 2011. Island Adventure

The Kazakhstan (first name) was launched on 17 October 1975 and delivered in June 1976. She was named after the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic. The Kazakhstan was converted to a cruise ship at Lloyd Werft, West Germany in 1984. In December 1994 she was transferred under the ownership of Blasco UK, transferred under Liberian flag and renamed Ukraina. On 2 September 1996 she was chartered to Royal Seas Cruises Lines, reverted to Ukrainian flag and used for cruising from Tampa. After the end of charter in January 1997 she reverted to the name Ukraina and was chartered to SeaEscape. On 13 February 1998 she was renamed Island Adventure but continued service with SeaEscape until the company ceased operations in August of 2008. Hanseatic

MS Hanseatic (previously Society Adventurer) is a five-star cruise ship owned by the Hapag-Lloyd cruise line. According to the Berlitz Complete Guide to Cruising and Cruise Ships, it is the only five-star expedition-cruise ship worldwide. Built in 1991, she specialises in trips to the Antarctic. She was built as Society Adventurer, but was renamed when she was purchased by Hanseatic Tours, as the fourth in a line of Hanseatics. Gemini

MS Gemini is a cruise ship operated by Quail Travel Group. She was built in 1992 by Union Navale de Levante, Valencia, Spain for Crown Cruise Line as Crown Jewel. She has also sailed under the name Cunard Crown Jewel. She also operated as SuperStar Gemini for Star Cruises from 1995 to 2008. The Crown Jewel was built in 1992 for Crown Cruise Line (a subsidiary of EffJohn), and which was itself the merger of Finland Steamship Company and Johnson Line. Fram

MS Fram is a passenger vessel operated by the Norway-based Hurtigruten Group. The ship is named after the original Fram, the ship used by explorers Fridtjof Nansen and Roald Amundsen. The ship operates in the Arctic Ocean and around Greenland in the summer, and cruises around Antarctica at other times of the year. Zenith

MV Zenith is a cruise ship owned by the Spain-based shipping company Pullmantur Cruises. She was built in 1992 by Meyer Werft, Papenburg, Germany for Celebrity Cruises. The Zenith was built as a sister ship to Celebrity Cruises first newbuild MV Horizon. The Zenith was delivered in February 1992 and set under Liberian flag.
